Most infants occasionally "spit up" or "throw up" after they eat. Some infants spit up or throw up so frequently that they are said to have gastroesophageal reflux (GERD). This term describes the splashing or pushing of stomach contents backwards up into the esophagus, and sometimes, out of the mouth. When babies "spit up" or have signs of GERD when placed in the crib, a simple treatment that can resolve the discomfort is the use of Rest Right Bed Blocks. Placing a 2" set under the head of the crib, in most cases, alleviate the problem due to incoordination of the upper intestinal tract. Rest Right Bed Blocks are today being used to elevate the isolets in hospital premature and regular nursery areas. |
